Puerto Rico - Dr. Flores

Families. Over the whole world, their are many different families that even if you may or may not believe it, eat the same type of food. For instance, we all eat rice even in Japan there are eating rice with other toppings like we do so in USA or any other country. However, the types of food vary and change based on our religions. Due to certain religions, people aren't allowed to eat pork or other types of foods. In my religion/tradition, we mostly eat hispanic food however we usually eat certain types of foods mostly on holidays such as Christmas, Thanksgiving, and etc. But now I mostly dont like our traditional food or drinks such as pina colada, or pasteles. Traditions and religions affect what we eat and when and if we even eat at all. But I believe that modern Americans don't really have a strong sense in traditional foods. I believe that they eat what ever they like and it doesn't reflect much on traditions for modern americans.
In Puerto Rico, the temperature is usually high so for drinks we have something cold and the foods are severed traditional. During holidays, my mother told me that making pasteles is one food that is traditional for us Puerto Ricans; even though I dislike pasteles. Most traditional food I dislike based on the fact i grew custom to modern Americans food such as hamburgers, rice, french fries and etc. I believe don't have strong sense of traditional foods because modern Americans just eat what pleases them but what they eat has no meaning to them cultural. A high population of americans eat at McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, and etc., and these fast food places has no meaning in the traditional foods. In my traditions and religion, we eat rice with beans and with pernil which is a type of pork. Pernil is mostly eaten for dinner meals and for holidays. Pernil is roasted pork and pina colada is pineapple juice which can be alcoholic at times however it usually not.

Pina Colada
Rice, beans, and pernil
However, other people may believe that modern Americans have a strong sense in cultural value regarding food, however that is not the case. Just because Americans use different types of foods to make their own doesn't mean they have a strong sense in cultural values. Americans mostly eat at fast food places like McDonald. However, unlike in Puerto Rico we eat traditional meals and even the drinks are only made during the holidays to celebrate drink and eat with family members. Americans don't have a strong sense of cultural values because I don't believe that hamburgers is really a traditional food for Americans. I believe that over time Americans lost their sense of cultural foods.
                                                Modern Americans eat McDonald
In Puerto Rico, we eat our traditional foods and plus any other hispanic foods or traditional meals or drinks such as pastelitios, platinos and etc. I believe that modern Americans did lose their taste in traditional foods. Modern Americans mostly eat at fast food places which traditional foods aren't a such major in. Modern Americans lost their sense of traditional values from the past to present. However, other religions take foods into a huge matter and believes that traditional foods/meals are important and show multiple perspectives.
